Deauville is a town I have actually never heard of before today. Incredibly ironic, this town has been mentioned to me three times by three different people just today recommending that I visit, a sign? I now absolutely have this on my list of to do's and I am very excited about it. A little knowledge of the town Deauville, the book
Paris vs New York (mentioned in an earlier post) and
the Tory Burch blog both compare it to the Hamptons of New York. It use to be a small town that was renovated twice by adding a Grand Casino, villas and a Grand Hotel. This city can be traced back to 1060 and is called the "queen of the Norman beaches", being that it is located in Northern France in lower Normandy. Deauville is the go to and closest beach for Parisians and it is also the most prestigious beach in all of France. It also holds international film festivals and is known for their horse races. The best info I can give? The town really took off on their second renovation when boutiques started to be installed, the first boutique to buy a space? Coco Chanel. More Details to come..
