Macarons vs Cafe

NYC vs Paris

It is so interesting to notice the differences between New Yorkers daily habits to a Parisians..
New Yorkers are constantly carrying around their starbucks cups in hand while on the go. While the Parisians take a moment to enjoy their coffee and take a break in their day. They either sit down at a cafe outside, even though its freezing here(but we do have heaters), to have a smoke and a chat or just stand at the bar to throw one back at the cost of 1euro. Either way, again, I prefer the Parisian way. Its like you are enjoying life more then just getting your cafe and running.

The funniest part about the image above and below, these are pages from the book Paris vs New York by Vahram Muratyan. This is a book that I actually bought from the Colette store when I first arrived in Paris, then my dear friends lovely mother mentioned how she almost bought it for me, then... my wonderful girlfriend emailed me the newest post from the Tory Burch Blog (that refers to this book) as she knew I would love it, before knowing I owned the book!

My second comparison is with sweets. Now, my favorite cupcakes(when I normally don't like them) are from the Magnolia Bakery in the West Village however... my favorite macarons are now from Paris! (not including the ones from North Jersey that my family surprises me with, those are on their own level haha) Now whether they are better at Laduree or Pierre Herme Je ne sais pas.. On a great note, Laduree just opened their first shop in NY! So now you can have a taste for yourself!
