The Most Stunning Chapel

Sainte-Chapelle
4 bd. du Palais, Paris 75008

Construction started in 1242, opening in the year 1248

When King Louis IX bought supposedly the Crown of Thorns that actually laid on the head of Jesus, he imagined only the best and most beautiful church to hold it. Bringing us to Le Sainte-Chapelle which he built in only six years. King Louis IX, the only king to be named a Saint, accomplished his dream. From all the churches I have seen in Italy, Paris, London and America this is the most gorgeous and colorful Chapel that has stood in front of my eyes yet. The line is always long but I think completely worth the wait, even if the Crown is now in the hands of Notre Dame. While your at it.. I highly suggest visiting the only Ile(island) named after a King as well.. Ile St. Louis, directly next to Ile de la Cité where both churches mentioned reside.
