Diana Vreeland

She grew up with the Elite class of New York City, her family summered in Newport, Rhode Island, she lived in Paris and London and befriended all the Status Icons possible, one being - Madame Coco Chanel. Compared to her beautiful sister, she was always the "ugly" one. She then declared, if I cannot be the prettiest girl I will be the most popular! Which is exactly what Diana Vreeland did by taking the Queen Role in Fashion, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue then later creating the famous Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

A few fantastic quotes of hers that I could not agree with more, thank you sharing Into the Gloss:

“You know the greatest thing is passion, without it what have you got? I mean if you love someone you can love them as much as you can love them but if it isn’t a passion, it isn’t burning, it isn’t on fire, you haven’t lived.”

“Where would fashion be without literature?”
